Helping the Needy (HTN)
We are a group of students from Brickfields Asia College who aim to help the needy through performing community services. 'Helping the Needy (HTN)' is the name of our group as well as the project we are currently conducting.
The organisation we are currently working with is Ti-Ratana Welfare Society, one of the biggest independent, voluntary, Not-for-profit NGOs based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are a charitable organization which runs three children homes with over 250 children, two seniors' residences with about 50 senior citizens, a shelter home for women, and mobile clinics to provide free medical services to the people in the rural areas and has a mission is to provide shelter, education and care to the underprivileged members of the community, i.e. children/orphans, women and senior citizen.
Our task is to visit one of the children's homes and senior residences at Desa Petaling on the 23rd and 29th of October 2015. Our main objective is to create a positive and loving environment at the center in which the abandoned and neglected children feel being loved and cared by the community. At the same time, we gather food, clothing, daily supplies, etc. for the organization.
This blog is created to document the progress of our project in hopes that it would attract interests of the public and influence more people to participate in community services. Should you feel interested in helping out with our project by making donations or providing sponsorship, feel free to drop us a message. You may request for an official clarification from our university as well as the organisation.
Thank you.
